A day in the life of a cat doesn't usually involve surfing in East Hampton, flamenco dancing in Seville, or sitting in for Kirsten Dunst at a Vogue shoot with Annie Leibovitz. But what if it did? Lucky for Henri, Coco, Baby, Puff, and Bart, the five felines whose "parents" are Vogue's Creative Director, Grace Coddington, and hairstylist Didier Malige, life goes a little something like that. With drawings by Coddington and photographs by Malige, The Catwalk Cats (Edition 7L) is a whimsical tribute to all things fashion, feline, and familial.
The book has Puff, a red tabby whose wild orange hair won his mother's heart, recounting a year in their lives: Helmut Lang sends chocolates on Valentine's Day, and Baby can't resist (she just wasn't born to be sample-size); Coco, who likes to zip about Paris collecting personal orders from Lanvin and Balenciaga, accidentally arrives at the Met party in Nicole Kidman's Gucci; Puff wins an Oscar and later appears in a Bruce Weber exhibition. Summer is spent gardening on Long Island; Fashion Week is a must in the fall.
