PARIS -- Ectopic pregnancies may be present in up to 6% of women who appear to have had a complete miscarriage based on history and ultrasound findings, Dr. George Condous said at the 13th World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Hormonal follow-up is essential. Women whose HCG levels do not fall within 48 hours should be monitored closely until the location of the pregnancy is confirmed, regardless of endometrial thickness, advised Dr. Condous of St. George's Hospital, London.
