MERSER TO BE CONSULTANT AT BESTSELECTIONS.COM.(Brief Article)
NEW YORK -- Christine Merser, a founder and chairman of BestSelections.com, will wind down her day-to-day involvement with the luxury Web site by June 30.
However, Merser will continue as a consultant and shareholder in BestSelections, which was relaunched last fall following a redesign aimed at making the merchandise more alluring and the site easier to navigate.
Jody Owen, president and chief executive officer of BestSelections, has added the title of chairman.
In referring to Merser's new role at the company, Owen said, "She's still very actively involved and working with us on a project basis."
In a letter to business associates, Merser recounted her previously stated plans to someday give the reins of BestSelections to another person, and return to "consulting and writing on the industry that I have found so fascinating since I got involved, 10 years ago."
