Physicians can submit noncompliant electronic transactions after the Oct. 16 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act transaction and code sets deadline, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced.
The decision will ensure continued processing of claims from thousands of providers who probably would not meet the deadline and would have had their claims rejected, CMS said.
