For the third time in one year, The Alpha Center has a new director.
Ralph Moore, who taught science at the charter school last year and in Hernando County public schools before that, stepped into his new position a week ago.
"I'm a big team builder," said Moore, who worked as a laboratory scientist and taught upper level science courses during his 21-year Air Force career. "And I know you have to surround yourself by a good staff."
Retaining staff has been a problem at The Alpha Center since it opened Aug. 16 on the site of the former New Challenge campus, at Flamingo Road and Joppa Avenue in Port Charlotte.
