For every one person Canada lost to the United States, it gained four university graduates from abroad. According to a recent study released by Statistics Canada, the number of people leaving Canada for the United States and other countries grew steadily during the 1990s.
According to the report, people who emigrated out of Canada tended to be better-educated than the population as a whole, higher income-earners and of prime working age.
