The 280-member award-winning band at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is now on probation, following a head-shaving hazing incident and lewd dancing on a recent road trip.

Complaints about the band's behavior by female members, alumni and others reached the chancellor's office, according to Casey Nagy, executive assistant to Chancellor John Wiley. They included vulgar behavior, lewd dancing by semi-nude men and "highly sexualized banter" on at least one of the band buses during a September trip to Ann Arbor. One allegation involves sexual harassment by a staff band member.
