Women find standards for tenure to be less transparent at their campuses than do men, according to a recent survey done by the Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (Coache).
Coache surveyed 4,500 tenure-track faculty at 51 schools on a variety of issues, including the perceived clarity of tenure standards. Respondents answered on a 5-point scale, with 5 being "very clear" and 1 being "very unclear".
