Six schools are splitting more than $1.25 million in grants from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to help faculty better balance their career and family.
Duke University, Lehigh University and the universities of Florida and Washington will each receive $250,000 and the Berkeley and Davis campuses of the University of California will split $250,000. They were chosen from a field of 55 applicants, based on their past achievements in giving faculty members more flexible work schedules and plans to keep improving that flexibility.
