Sometimes when you're the first to do something, everyone is always playcatch up. That seems to be the case with Wet 'n Wild, the world's first complete waterpark and the Best Waterpark in this year's Best of Aquatics contest.
Though it's ballooned in size since opening in 1977, this year-round park has remained true to the innovative vision of SeaWorld founder George D. Millay. The park was the first to introduce the Lazy River concept and offers patented rides, such as The Bomb Bay.
This year, the park is offering The Blast, the first fully themed ride of its kind, featuring explosive pipe bursts and drenching waterspouts, along with colorful props and sound effects triggered by motion sensors.
