MARUBENI WINS ORDER FOR VIETNAMESE PULP FACILITY
SINGAPORE - Marubeni Corp. (TSE:8002) has been awarded a roughly Y15 billion yen ($US129.85 million) order to build a paper pulp plant in Vietnam by leading local firm An Hoa Paper Joint Stock Co. The plant will come onstream in two years in Son Duong, some 150km to the northeast of the capital city of Hanoi. It will produce bleached kraft paper and have an annual output capacity of 130,000 tons. Marubeni will be responsible for design, materials procurement, equipment installation, technical training and other operations. It plans to use production equipment from Finland and peripheral devices made in China.
