A Topeka-based bank has brought in two area banking executives to guide its expansion into the fiercely competitive Johnson County market.

Capital City Bank plans to open an Overland Park branch this summer. Chairman Frank Sabatini, who bought the bank in 1979, said the success of its foray into Johnson County will depend on the efforts of Tom Oltjen and Dan Bolen.

Oltjen is president of the proposed Overland Park branch, which is to open in a former UMB Bank location at 6900 College Blvd. Oltjen, 38, had been vice president of the commercial real estate division at First National Bank of Kansas. He expects to capitalize on 10 years of College Boulevard …
