Less than two hours after a Collier County sheriff's sergeant and a woman were killed in North Naples, the murder suspect was arrested near his part-time Sarasota residence Sunday.

Roy Kipp, 43, a retired Collier County sheriff's lieutenant, was arrested on charges that he shot his estranged wife, Sandra Kipp, 35, and the sergeant, Jeffrey Klein, 35. The Kipps were separated.

Collier County authorities discovered the bodies shortly before 3 a.m. in the Naples apartment of Sandra Kipp.

It was unclear why Klein, who was off-duty at the time of the killings, was in the apartment, said Tina Osceola, a Collier County sheriff's spokeswoman. She said …
