In the February issue, George Vass stated in his article ("The Wide World of Baseball") that Otto Hess was "undoubtedly the best pitcher ever to come out of Switzerland, or all of Europe, for that matter."
Hess might have been the best pitcher out of Switzerland, but I believe Bert Blyleven, a native of Zeist, Holland, was the best pitcher out of all Europe.
"The Dutchman" had 287 wins and 3,701 strikeouts in his career. Yet, Vass never mentioned Blyleven once in his article.

During a game last season, announcer Joe Morgan mentioned to his partner Jon Miller that he knew of four former Most Valuable Player Award winners who had sons who also played major league baseball.
Those players included Pete Rose, Yogi Berra, Maury Wills and Jeff Burroughs.
Jon Miller said he knew five such players with sons who played in the majors.
