A Democratic senator on Sunday urged Pakistan to do more to help ease violence in Afghanistan, saying militants in Afghanistan are taking refuge and organizing in the neighboring country.

"The Pakistanis have to be much more aggressive and diligent. They're trying, but they have to do more," Sen. Jack Reed told CNN's "Late Edition."

The United States, he said, has to "get much more cooperation with Pakistan."
