Local mp Matthew Taylor and his fiancee, Vicky Garner, are celebrating the arrival of their baby son.
The Truro and St Austell MP and his partner, a former director of the Surfers Against Sewage campaign group, are both delighted at the birth of Arthur Simon Rowan Taylor.
He was born just across the Thames from the House of Commons at St Thomas' Hospital in London.
The couple had planned a home birth in Cornwall, but Ms Garner went in to labour in London, forcing an emergency admission to hospital.
Baby Arthur was born weighing in at 7lbs 7oz at about 8am on Friday.
