We're barely two weeks into the new millennium and the movie studios have already taken leave of their collective sense.

What other way to explain the following industry news? In a move with "colossal disaster" written all over it, Universal Studios is apparently proceeding with a sequel to the blockbuster Academy Award-winner "Silence of the Lambs." This, despite the absence of one minor factor: Jodie Foster. The Oscar-winning actress passed on the script and a second shot as tormented FBI agent Clarice Starling, reportedly ticking off fellow "Lambs" co-star Anthony Hopkins in the process.
