The incidence of invasive cervical cancer decreased significantly among Hispanic women (by 4.4%) and among non-Hispanic women (by 2.0%) between 1992 and 1999, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported.
But despite those declines, Hispanic women had nearly twice the incidence of invasive cervical cancer as non-Hispanic women, regardless of the stage of disease at the time of diagnosis.
Nearly 15,000 cases were diagnosed during the study period.
