Arbor Day.(B SECTION)
Alta Vista Elementary School and the Sarasota Garden Club will celebrate Arbor Day at 1 p.m. Friday at the school, 1050 N. Euclid Ave., Sarasota.
Smokey the Bear will help students plant a tree. For more information, call the garden club at 955-0875.
School choice
Southside School will host two school choice orientation sessions for prospective parents.
The first will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, and the second will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 28, both in the school's media center, 1900 Webber St. The orientations will include tours of the school.
Those interested should RSVP to Debbie at 361-6420.
Alumni sought
Central Connecticut State University is searching for alumni to celebrate the school's 150th birthday.
President and Mrs. Richard L. Judd will host a special Florida area reunion Sunday at the Helmsley Sandcastle Hotel on Lido Key. A reception will be at noon with lunch to follow. For more information, call Norm Meyer (class of '73) at 355-9196.
