M2 PRESSWIRE-11 April 2000-INTEL: Intel boosts workstation performance with new processors processors target fast-growing workstation market segment (C)1994-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
RDATE:10042000
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Intel Corporation today announced two new powerful processors targeting high-performing Intel-based workstations. The new Intel Pentium III Xeon and the Pentium III processors deliver increased performance through faster megahertz speeds, Advanced Transfer Cache, an enhanced front side bus, and multiprocessing capabilities. As Web content, e-Business, and online collaboration increasingly play a more important role in the Internet economy, the workstation industry- and Intel-based workstations' role in that industry - also continues to grow rapidly worldwide.
Intel announced that now more than twenty original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) market Intel-based workstations worldwide based on the Pentium III Xeon or Pentium III processors, in a variety of form factors, speeds, processors and frequencies.
The Internet economy is allowing corporations to adapt to business 'rules', demanding a seamless integration of the enterprise impacting all workstation users. The growth of Intel-based workstations help to integrate the customer's design, marketing, sales, and manufacturing processes, increasing the organization's agility, innovation and efficiency.
