After failing to respond to two earlier letters, Democratic National Committee leaders today urged George W. Bush to respond to the Census Task Force's request for Bush's position on whether, as President, he would allow the Census Bureau to release corrected census numbers.

In a third letter today, Congressional Hispanic, African American, and Asian leaders, who make up the Census Task Force, told Bush: "To date, you have refused to answer our question, and your campaign has refused to answer reporters' questions on this subject. As recently as last month, your spokesperson Scott McClellan said, 'We're still looking at the issue.' Your silence is deafening."
