MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, Minn., March 2 /PRNewswire/ --
Sun Country Airlines has received approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to begin scheduled service from Detroit, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and Austin to several locations in Mexico beginning May 22, 2000.
According to Sun Country President and CEO Bill La Macchia, Jr., "The DOT approval for scheduled service will allow these Sun Country flights to be published in more Computer Reservation Systems, a change that will give us a competitive edge over charter carriers flying those routes as well as make booking our flights more convenient for our passengers and travel agents." La Macchia added, "This also allows Sun Country to sell one-way tickets, which it cannot do as a charter carrier."
