Ernest Remo ICON Vice-Chairman On Key VisionAmerica Committees
ICON Laser Eye Centers, Inc. (CDN:ILEC.U) ("ICON") announced that its COO Ghassan Barazi has also been appointed COO of VisionAmerica Incorporated (NASDAQ:VSNA).
Mr. Barazi will operate from Memphis, TN and Windsor, Ontario and will primarily direct the laser vision correction and cataract operating businesses. Tom Lewis, CEO of VisionAmerica will primarily focus on divestiture activities, cost containment measures and other core VisionAmerica business including practice management and ambulatory surgical centers. VisionAmerica was the founder of a majority of its physician practices as opposed to being an acquirer of practices and was therefore able to build value in its markets. Mr. Barazi has actively managed laser vision correction and cataract centers since 1990.
