Dave: I grew up playing in rock and roll bands and pop music bands, and it was always very amplified. My older brother -- he grew up playing electric guitar. That's why I think I opted to find the loudest mouth piece and the brightest reed, so that I could compete with the wall of sound that was emanating from the band. The sax, no matter how hard you blow, doesn't get any louder then a certain level. I always grew up with the saxophone kind of being a solo instrument.
