Here's a look at what three Posts are doing to stay involved in their schools.
Post 9148 in Whittier, Calif., developed a program in cooperation with the Ladies Auxiliary. Veterans representing all branches of service, and four wars broke into groups and visited six classrooms last year. Each discussed his war experiences.
Also, on one visit the ladies and men dressed as patriotic figures like Betsy Ross and the Statue of Liberty and presented a history program. "We are very proud of our program, said member Walter Lawetzki. "Hopefully others will want to do something like this, as well."
