By Kim Tong-hyung Staff reporter The government will increase subsidies for childcare benefits to low-income households and disabled children, the Ministry of Health and Welfare said yesterday.
The ministry said this year's budget for childcare subsidies stands at 117 billion won (about $97 million), a 20.2 percent increase from last year's 97.4 billion won. A total of 210,164 people will benefit from the subsidies, up from 192,762 people last year.
Ministry officials said four-member households with children under four years of age and an income of less than 1.25 million won ($1,041) a month will be eligible for the benefits. The line was drawn at 1.1 million won per month for the same ...
