The New York Yankees revealed that one of its executives is visiting Japan with the sole objective of snaring Hideki "Godzilla" Matsui, the Tokyo Giants slugger who recently declared himself a free agent to play in the Major Leagues.

According to the homepage of the American baseball powerhouse, Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman was to arrive in Japan Friday, "possibly to capture Godzilla."

However, when asked by a reporter here about the team's drive to sign Matsui, Cashman said, "I have no comment."

In response to the news, Matsui said that he was glad to hear the Yankees GM had come with the intention to sign him. But Matsui added that he didn't know whether to talk with Cashman at the ...
