Utah Sports Authority receives $1.42 million federal grant. (Olympic News).(for training and support of Paralympic Winter Games)(Brief Article)

The United States Department of Education has given a $1.42 million grant to the Utah Sports Authority (USA) to support the 2002 Paralympic Winter Games. The grant will continue Paralympic education programs in all 42 Utah school districts. The Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the Paralympic Games (SLOC) Education Department began Paralympic awareness in 1998.

The grant will also support recycling services, waste removal and snow removal crucial to the success of the Paralympics. These services, which will be required from the close of the Olympic Games through the Paralympic Games, will be overseen by SLOC's Facilities Services Department.
