Karhu's answer to winter adventure includes product innovation for the occasional skier.
Karhu, in an effort to revitalize the sport of cross-country as well as expand its appeal to winter outdoor people has introduced the All Terrain Concept. During the past year, Karhu has focused much of its energy on a broader approach than just cross country to attract and engage winter consumers.
According to Gary Fleming, VP of Sales and Marketing for Karhu, "Karhu will reassert its commitment to the four traditional ski categories--race, touring, backcountry and telemark--and make a new and more realistic offer to the occasional skier with more focused product."
Karhu believes that cross country has lost appeal to many winter outdoors people, those who are multi-sport, expect a short learning curve and will never commit to any one sport. The All Terrain concept is based on the notion that products should be designed for people and not for a discipline.
