The German government has pledged 89 million marks (about $43 million) to Mozambique under the co-operation programme for 2001/2002. The German authorities made the pledge during bilateral negotiations in Bonn which ended on November 23.
DM54 million is for financial cooperation, and 35 million for technical cooperation, in the areas of rural development, education, economic reform, and developing a market economy in Inhambane, Sofala and Manica provinces.
