I compared this release of the Tenth Symphony to an earlier Chandos version (8630), recorded in 1988, featuring the Scottish National Orchestra, conducted by Jarvi, and marveled at how technically good the earlier version was. This is not to sell this new one short. The average levels are below those of the earlier release, but once you compensate for that things shape up nicely.
