Blink-182, Enema of the State (MCA)
The great thing about checking out stuff you've seen on the shelves, but you're not quite sure you've ever heard, is that you can stumble across an unsuspected gem or get stuck with a real stinker. Enema of the State, at best a sophomoric prank, falls somewhere between the two -- with a decided tilt toward the malodorous. Musically, Blink-182 is second-generation speed punk, almost fast, almost clever, and not really engaging. Folks, it's pretty much all one song.
