Pat Metheny and The Heath Brothers + Ralph Towner and Charlie Haden: Move to the Groove (West Wind WW 2155)
This release is something of a musical mutt. The first five cuts were made in Cannes, France, in 1983. Four of them feature Metheny playing with the Heath Brothers (Jimmy on tenor, Percy on bass, and Tootie on drums), while one cut is a Metheny solo (imaginatively listed as "Guitar Improvisation" in the liner notes, although most of it seems to be based on his composition "James," if my memory serves me correctly). Although the billing on the cover of this CD might lead you to think that some of the cuts might find Charlie Haden and Ralph Towner sitting in with Metheny and the Heaths, this is not the case.
