Two portions of the Eggleston Fontaine loudspeaker review in issue 85 were inadvertently missing. The first missing section was flattering text that applied to the in-room response curve (which did print):
"Some weeks went by, but I did not call the trucking company to come pick up these heavy babies. I had a small gnawing feeling that maybe I should do more what an audiophile customer or dealer would do: experiment further with these speakers' positioning, back in the living room where I give my most severe scrutiny to audio components. I listened, and fussed with placement, and enjoyed steady Bach by pianist Glenn Gould, muscular Beethoven by pianist Stephen Kovacevich, and John Fahey's quaint, hypnotic drone guitar. No boom this time, no deep bass, not a lot of air, but rich-Corinthian-leather midrange. The image of the instrument still floated. And the tonal balance and smooth mid sound were similar to, but better than, English speakers I analyzed ...
