The dinosaurs are back, and so is Sam Neill. Everyone else is gone, though, including director Steven Spielberg, who is listed only as an executive producer on this outing. Maybe the filmmakers are planning to bring back one character at a time from the first film: Jeff Goldblum in the second installment; now, Neill. At that rate we could be down to an assistant cameraman by "Jurassic Park XXXV." Anyway, the music is about the same as ever, John Williams' familiar score being aided and abetted by a few new concoctions by Don Davis, everything sounding pretty decent in this Decca recording. The best song is the closing number, a country-western tune by Randy Newman called "Big Hat, No Cattle." No timings are printed for any of the tracks, but the whole disc lasts a little over ...
