Traditional music is everywhere in the contemporary Canadian music scene. The problem is, it tends to disguise itself when it appears on TV and radio. It pokes its head out between verses or during instrumental breaks, but more often than not it plays a supporting role on the charts as part of the scenery of the songs it inhabits.
