Southern Division. (MTNA Division News).(Music Teachers National Association)(Brief Article)
I am pleased to announce that MTNA President Dr. Wayne Gibson, NCTM, will be the speaker at the Southern Division banquet in Athens, Georgia, on January 26, 2002. In this issue, we spotlight Mississippi and Virginia.
The Hattiesburg Music Teachers League, an affiliate of the Mississippi Music Teachers Association, hosted composer Martha Mier at its Composer Festival, November 16-17, 2001, at Roseberry's Music Company. Six student recitals featuring Mier's music were held, two on Friday night, and four throughout the day on Saturday. Student participants also made posters depicting their selections, which were prominently displayed in the recital hall.
