South Central Division is looking forward to its annual meeting and competitions January 26-27, 2002, at Centenary College, Hurley School of Music, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ross Smith is the local chair. Following the Saturday afternoon division meeting, MTNA members are invited to dinner at the South Commons Dining Hall, catered by the college. The Louisiana Music Teachers Association (LMTA) held its 50th annual convention in October at Southeastern Louisiana University at Hammond. The convention artist was pianist Arthur Greene from the University of Michigan, assisted by his wife, violinist Solomia Greene. In an effort to increase the diversity of convention programming, LMTA invited clinicians in voice, harp and strings to supplement the usual piano offerings.
