MTNA held the annual Summit for MTNA Leadership in Cincinnati, Ohio, September 7-9, 2001.
"After spending a weekend working with a hundred of the strongest leaders in the musical world, I am most enthusiastic about the future of our profession and our art," says Dr. R. Wayne Gibson, NCTM, MTNA President. "I am deeply touched by the zeal with which our leaders give their time and energy toward better serving the association at all levels."
Brian Chung, vice president and general manager of Kawai America and immediate past chair of the MTNA FOUNDATION Board of Trustees, was the keynote speaker Friday evening. His insightful, inspirational talk entitled "Where Do We Go From Here?" set the tone for the weekend.
Leaders attended informative sessions offering opportunities for brainstorming, education and networking. Kathleen Rountree, NCTM, a former MTNA vice president and dean of the University of Northern Colorado College of Performing and Visual Arts, spoke about time management, goal setting and goal achievement.
