ALLEGED BABY RAPISTS' CASE POSTPONED The Upington Magistrate's Court on Friday postponed to next month the case of six men charged with raping a nine-month-old baby. The men did not apply for bail, as expected, but only made a brief appearance, prosecutor Carina Victor said. The case was postponed for further investigation to December 7. All six men had in the meantime obtained legal representation. An attorney was appointed on their behalf by the Legal Aid Board. The case was earlier this month postponed to allow four of the men to obtain a lawyer. Most private practitioners in the area refused to represent them. Jan Mienies, 45, John Radebe, 24, Frans Mosterd, 28, Jan Van Wyk, 66 , Piet van Rooi, 39, and Joffie Freeman, 32, are accused of raping and indecently assaulting a baby girl in Louisvale in the Northern Cape earlier this month.
