Gauteng fans of the multi-talented American jazz musician Al Jarreau snapped up tickets for the Johannesburg concert billed for next Tuesday, forcing organisers to add one more show at the same venue. The multiple Grammy award-winning artist was to have performed one show at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg but because of popular demand another show has been added. He will now perform in Johannesburg next Thursday as well before travelling to Cape Town for a show next Saturday. However, Gauteng's gain is the Eastern Cape's loss. Organisers had originally hoped the American would perform in Port Elizabeth. The addition of a second show in Johannesburg means he will not perform in Port Elizabeth. The shows, presented by Old Mutual Jazz Encounters in conjunction with Big Concerts and Kaya FM, will be the second time around in South Africa for the musician.
