Three detectives from Alberton, south of Johannesburg, were arrested on Thursday after they allegedly kidnapped a Chinese man and demanded a ransom from his wife, Johannesburg police said. Superintendent Chris Wilken said the policemen, two inspectors and a sergeant, arrived at the man's house in Randburg just before 5am on Thursday. The policemen identified themselves and then allegedly arrested the 23-year-old man on fraud charges.
