CSX Lines, the second largest maritime shipper to Hawaii, has created a new division for online ordering, tracking and billing.

CSX will spin off its e-business operations into a new unit, Horizon Services Group.

Horizon Services will make the software available to other shippers for a fee.

A shipper will be able to track cargo, review timetables, place and change orders, and pay for services online.

Half of all CSX Lines customers currently use the online service to book shipments.
