AFRICA STILL RECOVERING FROM COLONIALISM: FRASER-MOLEKETI Africa has never fully recovered from the consequences of its colonial legacy, says Public Service and Administration Minister Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi. Speaking in Cape Town on Monday ahead of an Institute for Justice and Reconciliation-organised "State of Identity Conference", she described the destruction of African people's cultures and traditions as "cultural genocide". The conference, which its organisers say is aimed at bringing together various stakeholders to discuss "issues of African identity", is set to take place at the University of the Western Cape on Tuesday and Wednesday. Fraser-Moleketi said the increasing gap between the world's rich and poor was the biggest security threat of the 21st century.
