EAGLE AWARDED: Jeremy Martin, 13, an eighth-grader at Albuquerque Academy, has received the Eagle Scout Award, the highest advancement award possible in Boy Scouts. He is a member of Troop 409, which is chartered by the Evening Optimists of Albuquerque. Each candidate must earn 21 merit badges and complete a community service project.

Jeremy has completed 29 merit badges and has served in several leadership positions. For his Eagle Project, a new hiking and mountain biking trail was started in the Manzano Mountains. Forty volunteers worked more than 200 hours to help with this endeavor.

Jeremy is the son of Matt and Patty Martin.
