New Award Established by NACM Carolinas. (Member News).(Brief Article)
At the May 2001 meeting of the newly elected board of NACM Carolinas, Inc., the board established the Leland L. "Pete" Petersen Award. This award was in honor of our past president, Pete Petersen, who was hired as president at a most critical time in our history. Pete worked tirelessly and performed well beyond the call of duty. His efforts salvaged us and laid the groundwork for us to become the strong organization that we are today. Pete's untimely passing was a loss for those who knew him and for those who benefited from his efforts.
This award was established to be presented only on the occasion that the board felt there was a deserving person, who had given himself or herself selflessly and beyond any reasonable expectation to the betterment of our affiliate and our profession. The award is presented at the Carolina's Credit Conference (formerly known as the NACM Carolinas' Annual Membership Meeting) only during those years that it was deemed as having been deserved.
