Barry Elkus never wants to forget: So whenever he makes an important decision, he takes another look at the dogeared list of handwritten reminders tucked away in his day. planner.
The list dates to August 1998, several months after Elkus left Big Sky Bread Co., the company he co-founded but was forced out of after venture capital partners demanded new management.
While Elkus was out, he was far from finished. Within the year, he had secured the franchise rights in Greater Cincinnati and Dayton for a gourmet sandwich shop concept called Roly Poly, which combines fresh ingredients in tortilla wraps.
The future looks bright for Elkus and his Roly ...
