Raley Field is catching on as a venue for company picnics, business meetings and concerts.

The 1 1/2-year-old home of the popular Sacramento River Cats was used for 24 large events this year, not counting 72 River Cats baseball games. The stadium's party or "Solon" suites were rented out for smaller gatherings on 110 days.

But now the owners will focus on larger company events, concerts, trade shows and festivals that will occupy most of the entire West Sacramento ballpark -- and are more lucrative.

"We've been very pleased with how the last year has gone," said Tom Glick, vice president of sales and marketing for Raley Field and the Triple-A River …
