Youth baseball camp
The Charlotte Baseball Camp will be operated from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday at Punta Gorda Little League on Carmalita Road in Punta Gorda. The camp is for players ages 6 to 12. The cost is $75 per player for the week. Some of the areas that will be covered include pitching, hitting, catching, infield play at all positions, outfield and base running. Among the instructors that will be on hand are Charlotte High baseball coach Mike Metcalf, San Francisco Giants scout Paul Turco, Sarasota High baseball coach Clyde Metcalf and members of the Charlotte High baseball team.
