ATLANTA BRAVES: Rookie Marcus Giles did a solid job replacing Quilvio Veras at second base last season, hitting .262 in 68 games. But the club plans to move SS Rafael Furcal, who missed most of the second half following surgery on a dislocated shoulder, to second full time and make Wilson Betemit the regular shortstop. It will be an easy transition for Furcal, who has excellent range and one of the game's best arms.
